At just 17 years old, Arvid Lindblad is one of the brightest young stars in motorsport, speeding toward his dream of racing in Formula 1. Born on August 8, 2007, in London, England, to a Swedish father and a mother of Indian heritage, Lindblad’s journey from go-karts to Formula 2 has been fast and impressive. Let’s take a look at how this Red Bull Junior Team driver is carving his path to the top.
Starting Young: Karting Days
Arvid’s love for racing began early. At five years old, he tried go-karting near his home at Rye House, a track where Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton once raced. By age seven, he was competing in karting events, showing incredible talent. Mentored by Formula E driver Oliver Rowland, Arvid won big titles like the British Kart Championship in 2018 at age 11 and the WSK Super Master Series in 2020. His speed and maturity caught the eye of Red Bull, who signed him to their Junior Team in 2021 when he was just 13.
Jumping to Single-Seaters: Formula 4
In 2022, Arvid stepped up to single-seater racing, competing in the Italian Formula 4 Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing. At 15, he was one of the youngest drivers, finishing 17th with a best result of seventh.
He also raced in the Formula 4 UAE Championship, winning his first race at Dubai Autodrome and earning a podium in Yas Marina, placing fifth overall.
In 2023, Arvid joined Prema Racing for a full Italian F4 season. He shone, winning six races, including a triple victory at Monza, and finished third in the championship. That year, he also dominated the Macau Grand Prix Formula 4 race, winning from pole position. These results proved he could handle tough tracks and compete with more experienced drivers.

Climbing Higher: Formula 3
In 2024, Arvid made a bold move to the FIA Formula 3 Championship with Prema Racing, skipping regional series that most drivers use as a stepping stone. At 16, he was a rookie but didn’t act like one. He won the sprint race in Bahrain, his first F3 event, and followed it with a second-place podium in Melbourne.
His standout moment came at Silverstone, where he became the first driver to win both the sprint and feature races in one weekend, even battling through wet conditions.
Despite some bad luck later in the season, including crashes and poor qualifying, Arvid finished fourth in the championship with four wins, earning the title of top rookie. He also won the Formula Regional Oceania Championship in early 2024, adding another trophy to his collection.
Formula 2 and Beyond
In 2025, Arvid moved to Formula 2 with Campos Racing, the final step before Formula 1. At the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix weekend, he made history as the youngest F2 race winner at 17 years, 8 months, and 11 days, clinching the sprint race in Jeddah. This victory showed he’s ready to compete with the best young drivers.
As a Red Bull Junior, Arvid is on the radar of Red Bull Racing’s Dr. Helmut Marko, who has praised his talent. New 2025 rules allow young drivers to race in F1 practice sessions, and Arvid, who turned 18 in August 2025, could get a chance to drive a Red Bull F1 car soon. He’s also working toward earning his FIA Super Licence, which requires strong results in F2.
A Bold Dream
Arvid’s confidence is as big as his talent. In 2021, at age 14, he told McLaren’s Lando Norris, “I’ll see you in F1 in five years.” That moment, inspired by Lewis Hamilton’s bold approach as a kid, sums up Arvid’s mindset. He’s not just dreaming of F1—he’s planning for it. With Red Bull’s support, a strong team at Campos, and a never-give-up attitude, Arvid Lindblad is on a fast track to Formula 1.
